K-2nd Grade Field Hockey Clinic

Players entering Kindergarten, 1st Grade, or 2nd Grade in the fall are eligible for Stampede Clinic

Practices

Clinic practices start on or about August 1st and continue through the end of October. Practices are once a week and run for 1 to 1.5 hours. Clinic players will focus on running, stick skills, basic positions, field hockey strategy, and team building.

Equipment

Each player must provide a field hockey stick, shin guards, and a mouth guard. Players must bring a water bottle to all practices and games. Turf shoes are recommended.

Uniform

Clinic registration includes a Stampede jersey and matching socks to be worn on Play Days. Players must provide their own black shorts.

Game Format

Clinic players participate in “Play Days” and scrimmages organized by the Maryland Youth Field Hockey League on Saturday mornings. Scrimmages run for about 30 minutes and parents can expect to play 2-3 scrimmages on scheduled play days. Some travel is required (usually 45 minutes or less) for play days.

Play Healthy Policy

Players are not permitted to attend or participate in practices or games if they are feeling ill or exhibiting symptoms of any illness. Stampede will abide by all public health regulations imposed by federal, state, or local authorities. Parents or guardians must agree to an injury and illness liability waiver in the Player Registration Agreement in order for players to participate in Stampede.
